Vidyasagar B.Ed. College, Nadia, is an affiliated college of Baba Saheb Ambedkar
Education University (Kolkata) established in the year 2017. It is located in
Narapatipara, Shimurali, West Bengal. It is a college for teacher's education,
approved by NCTE. The college stands on 0.8 acres of campus land that provides full-
time programs in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education
(D.El.Ed.). With a total student enrolment of 400 and a faculty strength of 21, the
Vidyasagar B.Ed. college ensures a classroom teaching-learning environment with a
clear focus on the educative process for prospective teachers.
Several facilities have been incorporated in the college to make students' educational
journey richer in experience. The college has laboratories for Psychology, Physical
Science, Life Science, Educational Technology, and Languages. The library attached to
the college is quite comprehensive. Accommodation is also provided in separate
hostels for boys and girls in case students need this facility. The IT infrastructure in

Vidyasagar B.Ed. College primarily offers two courses, which are basically two-year,
full-time study courses. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and the Diploma in
Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The approved intake for each of the courses is 100
students. Therefore, overall, there are an annual 200-seat intake. The programs aim
to prepare students for teaching careers at all levels of education. These specialised
courses focus on the main emphases of the college in order to concentrate teacher
training. As a result, better-equipped graduates enter the education sector.
The admission to Vidyasagar B.Ed. College shall be strictly merit-based by considering
marks scored in the qualifying examination and entrance examination The
admittance in the B.Ed. course will go according to the policies prescribed by the
state government/Union Territory administration, or affiliated university. Similarly,
admission to the D.El.Ed. program would be in accordance with the state
government's policy.
